Austin, Texas (March 7, 2024) — ParkMyFleet, an innovative US mobility company, is excited to share its emerging partnerships and investments that will enable the development of Texas’ first intelligent infrastructure economic zone (IIEZ) along a 90-mile fully autonomous corridor.

Cities across the US face aging infrastructure, digital divides, disaster relief struggles and other plaguing issues. The State Highway (SH 130) autonomous corridor, near Austin, Texas – spearheaded by the Autonomy Institute, ParkMyFleet and other organizations — aims to address these issues by supporting automated freight and delivery, engendering intelligent and autonomous vehicles and much more.

Part of this effort will also include developing the region’s first intelligent infrastructure economic zone, which will help bring crucial economic expansion and job growth to the region.

ParkMyFleet is helping to lay the groundwork for this effort by enabling the deployment of drones for disaster relief, deliveries and other functions across the corridor and by introducing thermal solar hydrogen, which converts solar energy into hydrogen gas.

“The US is an unrivaled leader in so many technology spaces, but is grievously falling behind in the functionality of our cities,” said Kristin Slanina, Chief Innovation Officer at ParkMyFleet. “That’s why I am so eager to contribute to this effort, which will undoubtedly help to make our urban hubs greener and more efficient.”

Other key partners are also contributing to this effort, including FiberLight LLC, a fiber infrastructure provider, which has invested $20 million to offer up much-needed bandwidth to SH130.

“Intelligent Infrastructure touches the day-to-day life of each of our citizens and is crucial to competitiveness and prosperity,” said Jeffrey DeCoux, Chairman and Autonomy Fellow at the Autonomy Institute. “We are so grateful to each of our partners that are making this vision a reality.”

Intelligent solutions are a core tenant of ParkMyFleet’s mission, which is integrated into the company’s vast number of mobility hubs across the US that offer fleets eco-friendly and green-energy options such as, electricity and hydrogen, at the lowest cost.

“At the end of the day, mobility is inextricably tied to all aspects of building smart, functional and equitable cities,” said Mike Landau, CEO of ParkMyFleet. “It’s a privilege and — really — an obligation for ParkMyFleet to get involved in this innovative and forward-thinking effort.”
